मध्यकालीन महापुरूष गोगाजी हिंदू, मुस्लिम, सिख संप्रदायों की सहानुभूति व श्रद्घा अर्जित कर एक धर्मनिरपेक्ष लोकदेवता के नाम से पीर के रूप में प्रसिद्व हुए। गोगाजी का जन्म राजस्थान के ददरेवा (चुरू) चौहान वशं के राजपूत शासक जैबर की पत्नी बाछल के गर्भ से गुरू गोरखनाथ के वरदान से भादो शुदी नवमी को हुआ था। इनके जन्म की भी विचित्र कहानी है। एक किवदंती के अनुसार गोगाजी का माँ बाछल देवी निःसंतान थी। संतान प्राप्ति के सभी यत्न करने के बाद भी संतान सुख नही मिला। गुरू गोरखनाथ गोगामेडी के टीले पर तपस्या कर रहे थे। बाछल देवी उनकी शरण मे गईं तथा गुरू गोरखनाथ ने उन्हे पुत्र प्राप्ति का वरदान दिया और कहा कि वे अपनी तपस्या पूरी होने पर उन्हें ददरेवा आकर प्रसाद देंगे जिसे ग्रहण करने पर उन्हे संतान की प्राप्ति होगी। तपस्या पूरी होने पर गुरू गोरखनाथ बाछल देवी के महल पहुंचे। उन दिनों बाछल देवी की सगी बहन काछल देवी अपनी बहन के पास आई हुई थी। गुरू गोरखनाथ से काछल देवी ने प्रसाद ग्रहण कर लिया और दो दाने अनभिज्ञता से प्रसाद के रूप में खा गई। काछल देवी गर्भवती हो गई। बाछल देवी को जब यह पता चला तो वह पुनः गोरखनाथ की शरण मे गई। गुरू बोले, देवी ! मेरा आशीर्वाद खाली नहीं जायेगा तुम्हे पुत्ररत्न की प्राप्ति अवश्य होगी। गुरू गोरखनाथ ने चमत्कार से एक गुगल नामक फल प्रसाद के रूप में दिया। प्रसाद खाकर बाछल देवी गर्भवती हो गई और तदुपरांत भादो माह की नवमी को गोगाजी का जन्म हुआ। गुगल फल के नाम से इनका नाम गोगाजी पड़ा।

चौहान वंश में राजा पृथ्वीराज चौहान के बाद गोगाजी वीर और ख्याति प्राप्त राजा थे। गोगाजी का राज्य सतलुज सें हांसी (हरियाणा) तक था। गोगामेडी में गोगाजी का मंदिर एक ऊंचे टीले पर मस्जिदनुमा बना हुआ है, इसकी मीनारें मुस्लिम स्थापत्य कला का बोध कराती हैं। मुख्य द्वार पर बिस्मिला अंकित है। मंदिर के मध्य में गोगाजी का मजार है (कब्र) है। साम्प्रदायिक सद़भावना के प्रतीक गोगाजी के मंदिर का निर्माण बादशाह फिरोजशाह तुगलक ने कराया था। संवत 362 में फिरोजशाह तुगलक हिसार होते हुए सिंध प्रदेश को विजयी करने जाते समय गोगामेडी में ठहरे थे। रात के समय बादशाह तुगलक व उसकी सेना ने एक चमत्कारी दृश्य देखा कि मशालें लिए घोड़ों पर सेना आ रही है। तुगलक की सेना में हा-हाकार मच गया। तुगलक कि सेना के साथ आए धार्मिक विद्वानों ने बताया कि यहां कोई महान हस्ती आई हुई है। वो प्रकट होना चाहती है। फिरोज तुगलक ने लड़ाई के बाद आते गोगामेडी में मस्जिदनुमा मंदिर का निर्माण करवाया और पक्की मजार बन गई। तत्पश्चात मंदिर का जीर्णोद्वार बीकानेर के महाराज काल में 1887 व 1943 में करवाया गया।

गोगाजी का यह मंदिर आज हिंदू, मुस्लिम, सिख व ईसाईयों में समान रूप से श्रद्वा का केंद्र है। सभी धर्मो के भक्तगण यहां गोगा मजार के दर्शनों हेतु भादव मास में उमड़ पडते हैं। राजस्थान का यह गोगामेडी नाम का छोटा सा गांव भादव मास में एक नगर का रूप ले लेता है और लोगों का अथाह समुद्र बन जाता है। गोगा भक्त पीले वस्त्र धारण करके अनेक प्रदेशों से यहां आते हैं। सर्वाधिक संख्या उत्तर प्रदेश व बिहार के भक्तों की होती है। नर-नारियां व बच्चे पीले वस्त्र धारण करके विभिन्न साधनों से गोगामेडी पहुंचते हैं। स्थानीय भाषा में इन्हें पूरबिये कहते हैं। भक्तजन अपने-अपने निशान जिन्हे गोगाछड़ी भी कहते हैं लेकर मनौति मांगने नाचते-गाते ढप व डमरू बजाते व कुछ एक सांप लिए भी आते हैं। गोगा को सापों के देवता के रूप में भी माना जाता है। हर धर्म व वर्ग के लोग गोगाजी की छाया चढ़ाकर नृत्य की मुद्रा में सांकल खाते व पदयात्रा करते तथा गोरखनाथ टीले से लेटते हुए गोगाजी के समाधि स्थल तक पहुंचते हैं। नारियल, बताशे का प्रसाद चढ़ाकर मनौति मांगते र्हैं।

श्रीगोगा नवमी :
भाद्रपद श्रीकृष्णाष्टमी के दूसरे दिन की पुण्य तिथि नवमी ही "" गोगा नवमी "" नाम से प्रसिद्ध है। इस दिन वीर गोगाजी का जन्मोत्सव मनाया जाता है। इनकी जन्मस्थली "" ददरेबा "" नामक स्थान है जो राजस्थान के चूरू जिले में स्थित है। इस दिन गोगाजी के भक्तगण अपने घरों में अखण्डजोत जलाकर जागरण करते हैं और अपने परम्परागत वाद्य यंत्रों की घवनि के साथ गोगाजी की शौर्यगाथा और जन्मकथा का श्रवण करते हैं। प्राचीन मान्यताओं के अनुसार श्रीगोगाजी महाराज को जाहरवीर, गोगावीर, गुगालवीर, गोगागर्भी ओर जाहरजहरी नाम से भी जाना जाता है। बाबा की पूजा सामग्री में लौंग, जायफल, कर्पूर, गुग्गुल और गाय का घी प्रयोग में लिया जाता है। प्रसाद के रूप में हरी दूब और चने की दाल समर्पित की जाती है और उनकी समाघि पर चंदन चूरा मला जाता है। भक्तों की मान्यता है कि वे आज भी प्रत्यक्ष और अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से उनका मार्गदर्शन करते हैं। इसी कारण उन्हें प्रकटवीर कहा जाता है।

When Abhimanu got killed(A Son of Arjun & Subhadra).Abhimanu went to heavan(SWARG) but soon he got bored there.

Than Maharishi Narad told him that why do you wasting your Time ?do some TAPASYA so that TRIDEV will Guide You. He started GHOOR TAPASYA,atlast TRIDEV got PRASANN. They came and ask Abhimanu,what did he want ? because he is already in SWARG(HEAVAN).He said to them, “Hey TRIDEV ,I am not Happy here,because I feel MissionLess.In My Previous Birth,My Father,ARJUN,Love me too much and all LOVE, I have seen was not enough for me to Satisfy.

Please,Resolve My Problem,You have given me so many POWERS,But I can’t use It.What to do ?

KALYUG entered in the TAJ instructed RAJA PARIKSHIT to take Revenge of this APMAAN. He asked RAJA PARIKSHIT that look at the right side of tree there is a DEAD SNAKE’s BODY, took the Snake and wear it in the Neck of Maharishi Attari.He did as instructed by KALYUG.

When this NEWS went in the Ears of JANMAJYA,he become violent.He took SHAPATH that As Bhagwan Parshuram keep this EARTH 21 times ZERO From KASHTRIYAS ,I will Finish whole SNAKE JAATI(SPECIES).He Killed all Snakes Living On EARTH.He Boiled them in BIG KARHAS with Hot Oil.

Snakes got afraid of ,whenever,somebody took his Name. When JANMAJYA was not stopped and whole NAAG JAATI was in Trouble,All Snakes went to PADAMNAAG,

A King of snakes(Mahadev Shiv always wear him on Neck)for help.PADAMNAAG asked Mahadev Shiv that PRABHU,Janmajya will kill whole NAAG JAATI and Only You can stop him because BRAHMA and Vishnu Bhagwan show their Inability to Stop Janmajya.They said they have given all POWERS to JANMAJYA Accidently,Only MAHADEV SHIV can Control him.

Mahadev Shiv said,Yes,Its True that we TRIDEV accidently give Our POWERS to him but these POWERS are not given for VINAASH.It is to help people in the ERA OF KALYUG.but Janmajya,In his Father’s LOVE forget ALL RULES and COMMITMENT,So I should Punish him.He got a Plan.He Surprisingly went to JANMAJYA and told him about his Past Birth.But JANMAJYA refused to follow Mahadev Shiv,than Mahadev’s 3^rd Eye Open and Mahadev Shiv took that CAGE(PINJRA) and again entered Janmajya’s Soul into that Cage and locked it and send it to 7^th Universe.

JANMAJYA Shouted a lot but Mahadev is Mahadev(This is the First time in the whole Mythological Stories Mahadev act as a Clever Master to save this Earth).

Rule 1

People are the corner stone of development. Programs, projects and activities are not the goals and the objectives of development. Programs, projects and developmental activities must be for the people, of the people and by the people.

Rule 2

Women are the heart of development. They are often belittled, taken for granted and ignored in the developmental process. Their unselfishness, their dedication and loyalty make them essential change in community development. They must be given their due place in the community and in the society.

Rule 3

Development starts in the mind. Self-esteem and self-confidence in his/her own abilities are prerequisite for self help. If they want to take their lives in their own hands, poor people first must reject their "mendicant mentality".

Rule 4

Agents of change and organization must be immersed in the culture and sub-cultures of populations they work with. People's culture has to be understood and integrated to all facets of development.

Rule 8

It is unrealistic to think that development impact can be obtained after a few years of community activities. Change of attitude towards self-help takes time.

Rule 9

People have to learn to contribute in kind and in money to their own development. People's contribution warrants ownership and is an essential on for development. Once they are confident in their ability to contribute themselves their own well being little as it can be people's progress towards self-reliance is well on the way.

Rule 10

People, who are in the process of development, want to see results and be able to assess their success. Improvement in the economic well being of the people through small monthly savings and loans seems to have a choice in triggering the right attitude of self-reliance.

Religion

Religion is more than just a belief in a deity. Religion is philosophy and a way of life. It can define who you are, how you view the world around you and how you interact within it. There are as many different types of religion as there are different types of people.

Some religions and beliefs you may know about, some may seem strange and some you've probably never heard of before. Hopefully the information provided on this page will help some people understand the beliefs of others and clear up misunderstandings that may have gone on for generations. You'll discover that people have more in common than you'd think.
I've written descriptions of some world religions to give a basic definition of some of the belief systems. The following links represent a small fraction of the world's religions, so enter with an open mind and explore.

The term "Christianity" has many meanings: We receive frequent Emails, some quite irate, that say: "denomination X" is not Christian" -- where "X" may refer to the Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Roman Catholics, the United Church, Unity Church, etc. The cause of this conflict is lack of agreement about the meaning of the word "Christian." For example:Some fundamentalist Christians believe that the only "true Christian" is a person who has been saved. Probably about 30% of adult Americans would meet this definition.

Origin of Islam:Most religious historians view Islam as having been founded in 622 CE by Mohammed the Prophet (peace be upon him).* He lived from about 570 to 632 CE). The religion started in Mecca, when the angel Jibreel (Gabriel) read the first revelation to Muhammad (pbuh). (Muhammad and Muhammed (pbuh) are alternate spellings for his name.) Islam is seen as the youngest of the world's great religions. Islam existed before Mohammed (pbuh) was born,
The origins of Islam date back to the creation of the world, and
Mohammed (pbuh) was the last of a series of Prophets.

Followers of Islam are called Muslims. "Muslim" is an Arabic word that refers to a person who submits themselves to the Will of God. "Allah" is an Arabic word which means "the One True God." An alternate spelling for "Muslim" that is occasionally used is "Moslim"; it is not recommended because it is often pronounced "mawzlem": which sounds like an Arabic word for "oppressor". Some Western writers in the past have referred to Islam as "Mohammedism"; this is deeply offensive to many Muslims, as its usage can lead some to the concept that Mohammed the Prophet (pbuh) was in some way divine.

About Islam:By 750 CE, Islam had expanded to China, India, along the Southern shore of the Mediterranean and into Spain. By 1550 they had reached Vienna. Wars resulted, expelling Muslims from Spain and Europe. Since their trading routes were mostly over land, they did not an develop extensive sea trade (as for example the English and Spaniards). As a result, the old world occupation of North America was left to Christians.

Believers are currently concentrated from the West coast of Africa to the Philippines. In Africa, in particular, they are increasing in numbers, largely at the expense of Christianity. Many do not look upon Islam as a new religion. They feel that it is in reality the faith taught by the ancient Prophets, Abraham, David, Moses and Jesus (Peace be upon them). Mohammed's (pbuh) role as the last of the Prophets was to formalize and clarify the faith and to purify it by removing foreign ideas that had been added in error.

Estimates of the total number of Muslims in the world vary greatly:

At a level of 1.2 billion, they represent about 22% of the world's population. They are the second largest religion in the world; Christianity has 33%. Islam is growing about 2.9% per year which is faster than the total world population which increases about 2.3% annually. It is thus attracting a progressively larger percentage of the world's population. The number of Muslims in North America is in dispute: estimates range from under 3 million to over 6 million. The main cause of the disagreement appears to be over how many Muslim immigrants have converted to Christianity since they arrived in the US. Statistics Canada reports that 253,260 Canadians identified themselves as Muslims (0.9% of the total population) during the 1991 census. Those figures are believed to be an under-estimate.

Overview:Hinduism differs from Christianity and other Western religions in that it does not have a single founder, a specific theological system, a single system of morality, or a central religious organization. It consists of "thousands of different religious groups that have evolved in India since 1500 BCE."

Hinduism has grown to become the world's third largest religion, after Christianity and Islam. It claims about 762 million followers - 13% of the world's population. It is the dominant religion in India, Nepal, and among the Tamils in Sri Lanka. There are about 1.1 million Hindus in the U.S., and about 157,015 in Canada.

Hinduism has traditionally been one of the most tolerant of religions. However, over the past few years, a Hindu nationalistic political party has controlled the government of India. Anti-Christian violence has escalated.

Name of the religion:This religion is called:
Sanatana Dharma, "eternal religion," and
Vaidika Dharma, "religion of the Vedas," and
Hinduism -- the most commonly used name in North America. Various origins for the word "Hinduism" have been suggested:
It may be derived from an ancient inscription translated as: "The country lying between the Himalayan mountain and Bindu Sarovara is known as Hindusthan by combination of the first letter 'hi' of 'Himalaya' and the last compound letter 'ndu' of the word `Bindu.'" Bindu Sarovara is called the Cape Comorin sea in modern times.

It may be derived from the Persian word for Indian.
It may be a Persian corruption of the word Sindhu (the river Indus)
It was a name invented by the British administration in India during colonial times.

What is Buddhism ?Religion and philosophy that developed from the teachings of the Buddha Gautama (or Gotama), who lived as early as the 6th century BC. Spreading from India to Central and Southeast Asia, China, Korea, and Japan, Buddhism has played a central role in the spiritual, cultural, and social life of the Eastern world and during the 20th century has spread to the West. This article surveys Buddhism from its origins to its elaboration in various schools, sects, and regional developments.
Ancient Buddhist scripture and doctrine developed primarily in two closely related literary languages of ancient India, Pali and Sanskrit. In this article, Pali and Sanskrit words that have gained some currency in English are treated as English words and are rendered in the form in which they appear in English-language dictionaries. Exceptions occur in special circumstances—as, for example, in the case of the Sanskrit term dharma (Pali: dhamma), which has meanings that are not usually associated with the English “dharma.” Pali forms are given in the sections that deal with Buddhists whose primary sacred language was Pali (including discussions of the teaching of the Buddha, which are reconstructed on the basis of Pali texts). Sanskrit forms are given in the sections that deal with Buddhists whose primary focus was on Sanskritic traditions.

African Religions

Religion has always played a major part in the different cultures of Africa.
Each group of people in separate regions of the continent have creation stories that tie them directly to the God or Gods they worship.
Usually the God would create the Earth and animals and last would create the humans to take dominion over the region in which the people happen to inhabit.
The four primary sources for the study of African religion are the:

1. Oral traditions that are told from parents to children and priests to the people for centuries.
2. Archeological and linguistic evidence tells of the remaining of the ancient people1s beliefs by physical evidence of their religion and way of life and the speech patterns
that have evolved over the years.
3. The religions that are still practiced give a definitive view of the way religions were practiced in the old days.
4. The arts and sacred spaces have to do with what is considered Holy by the different practicing groups.

Many beliefs common among different African religions appear in their creation stories such as:

1. The spiritual cosmos populated by divine beings, sometimes in a hierarchial order.
2. The belief of Earth and material life as created.
3.A multitude of Gods and other spirits.
4.The role of ancestors.
5.A belief in sacred places and spaces such as a mountain that God inhabits.
6.Males and females as parts of the cosmic scheme.
7. Idea of society being organized around values and traditions drawn from common beginnings in history.

The religious leaders in many of Africa's religions have tried, sometimes in vain, to preserve the society from foreigners encroaching upon their lands and customs.
Their role has always been to preserve the histories and traditions of the people. They teach the ways of survival to the people, be it wedding procedures or planting times

the village priest is there to and serve through the God. The rituals practiced in many traditional African societies are all connected by the belief of being stepping stones to the ultimate goal of death and the afterlife. There are rituals that enhance all of the transitional stages of life such as birth, puberty, initiation into adulthood, marriage, having children, old age, death and life after death. The rituals allow the people celebrating to know what is expected of them in the next stage of their life and what is socially acceptable.

What is Jainism?

Jainism is nature in the purest and truest form. Jainism is as old as nature, which has neither beginning nor any end. The mission of Jainism is the mission of nature, which is to work for the welfare of one and all, to rise from the pitfall of ignorance and inaction to the spiritual climax of infinite bliss and perfect knowledge. i.e. absolute freedom.

Jainism is a religion based on cosmic principles, eternal principles on which this colossal machinery runs without any mistake or even a single momentary halt. The principles of modern science are true and temporary in particular context of space and time only, but the principles of Jainism are true for all time, for all space, for everybody and everything. Jainism throws light on the colossal structure of universe, its shape, size, origin, purpose and mechanism. It deals in perfect details with six reals out of which the universe is made. Everything that happens in the universe is according to the fixed pattern of eternal laws, which are unshakable and infallible.

The word 'Dharma':- some aspects...

1. Ordinarily it means 'Pious Act
2. Dharma - Duty : towards others, elders, dependents, sub-ordinates, society, country etc.
3. Dharma - Nature :

Nature of fire is to burn
Nature of water is to cool
Nature of soul is conscience, sentient, immortality, infinite knowledge, perception, energy, bliss, longs to be purified, to rise upward to Moksha- Eternal salvation.

4. Dharma -Religion : That saves one from sinking in the temporal ocean of births and deaths (Samsar). Religion consists of Dana, Sheel, Tapa, Bhava. (Charity, Chastity, Penance and Intention.)
The highest Charity is to give freedom from fear -the fear of death, injury, torture, hurt, oppression, etc. Chastity means complete control of impure desires of five senses and mind including celibacy. Penance is of twelve kinds to purify the soul from all Karmic energies. Intention means all of the above mentioned three should be with soul aim/ intent of achieving the spiritual zenith.

5. Dharma- Spiritual: Samyaka/ Jnana, Darshana and Charitra (Right & True Knowledge, Faith and Conduct)

6. Dharma - Shramana Dharma (monkhood) having ten fold

(i) Khsama : forgiveness, forbearance.
(ii) Mardava : humbleness, politeness, humility and courtest
(iii) Arjava : frankness, straight forwardness, deceitless
(iv) Mukti : free from desires, greed and expectations
(v) Tapa : penance of twelve kinds.
(vi) Samyama : to stop all inflow of karmas
(vii) Satya : beneficial, pleasant and well-thought truth, avoiding untruth.
(viii) Saucha : purity of conduct , to avoid all short-comings.
(ix) Akimchanya : to abstain from wealth and other material desires, even love and affection of own body.
(x) Bhramcharya : complete celibacy, chastity in thought, word and deed.
